The third annual Development Program for Administrative Staff at Boston College will take place on March 3 from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
This years event will include a welcome breakfast, a presentation on character strengths by guest speaker Pam Garramone, and Boston College-themed trivia.
Facilities Assistant Ann-Mary Spellman, president of the 51画鋼 Staff Advisory Senate, said, The program not only provides knowledge of our employee benefits and strengthens our skills, it is an opportunity to network and meet new colleagues.
The half-day event, sponsored by Human Resources, was created by the Staff Advisory Senate in response to concerns expressed by clerical and support staff members at being unable to attend the Universitys employee development programs because of schedule conflicts or lack of coverage in their areas.
Scheduling the program during spring break and giving supervisors advance notice of the date made it easier for administrative staff members to participate.
Previous programs have been well attended and well received, according to Vice President of Human Resources David Trainor.
I hope that attendees will see in a concrete way that Boston College is committed to their development, cares about them, and is grateful for the contributions that they make to the success of the University as a whole, said Trainor. It is a continuation of our commitment to helping all members of our community grow and thrive.
Spellman said the event is an acknowledgement and appreciation of administrative staff.
All administrative employees received an e-mail invitation to the development program from Trainor on February 3 and may register using the link provided in the e-mail.
