Welcome to the Career Center!

Our team provides resources, one-on-one coaching, and access to programs to help students explore career paths, build their networks, and accomplish their goals. No matter what stage you're at in the process, we're here to support you.

Our Vision

All Boston College students will be empowered to pursue careers and lives of meaning and purpose.

Our Mission

The Boston College Career Center empowers students from all academic disciplines to incorporate their career goals into a life of meaning and impact. The Center embraces the value of a liberal arts education, which prepares students to discern their gifts and talents and how they want to use them to engage the world, while also providing the skills students need to be career ready. We guide students as they explore their career interests, begin to design lives of purpose, and actively prepare to pursue opportunities that help them achieve their goals. To meet the needs of each student and ensure we are accessible to all, we partner with faculty, staff, employers, alumni, and others to foster a diverse network that will support students at every stage of their career journey. Our aim is to reflect the University's belief that career education and readiness are essential components of our Jesuit mission “to learn, to search for the truth, and to live in service to others.”

Our Shared Values

Rooted in the values of a Jesuit Catholic institution, the Career Center is dedicated to fostering an environment that reflects our shared commitment to the holistic development of our students and staff. We acknowledge the role we play in contributing to 51’s educational mission, guided by our values of caring for the whole person and promoting a just society.

Student-Centered Approach

We make choices that are deeply rooted in the best interests of students to empower them individually and collectively to discern their gifts and talents and how they want to use them to engage the world.

Leadership

Regardless of our role and position, we strive to develop and become the leaders necessary to realize our mission.

Sense of Possibility

We think boldly, greet new ideas openly, and approach our work with optimism.

Diversity and Inclusion

We recognize that we each bring a unique perspective to our team based on our identities and life experiences that help us do our best work.

Team Orientation

We value, respect, and communicate with each other, while also inspiring, challenging and supporting one another to be our best, sustain our effort, and engage in our work with a sense of purpose.

Continuous Learning

We critically and strategically seek out the best approaches to our work, reflect on past experiences, intentionally pursue the expertise of others, and evaluate data to guide our actions for the future in our commitment to continuous improvement.
