āThe road to reconciliationā as a metaphor suggests that we are indeed on the move, and that there is a certain directionality to our movement. Ā This presentation uses this metaphor to pose two questions: Ā 1) Just where have we come on the road to reconciliation, and 2) is the āroad to reconciliationā principally about looking backward ā healing the past ā or looking forward ā building the future? The multiple discourses of reconciliation are located within the larger landscape of the past two decades, what preceded it, and what we hope will follow.
