Best Buddies is a non-profit organization that provides one-to-one friendships, employment opportunities and leadership development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
84% of adults with developmental disabilities do not have a paid job in the community. Shalonda Sanders used to be a part of that 84%, until she joined the Best Buddies Jobs program and began working at Seyfarth Shaw LLP. Seyfarth Shaw's partnership on workforce development has supported several job placements since 2003.
In 2016, Seyfarth and Best Buddies were featured in a prominent spread in the Chicago Tribune, and in a brief video featuring Shalonda during a typical day in the office. Ms. Sanders is a stellar example of the impact of the Best Buddies job program.
