Dr. Audrey Doetzel Appointed Center's
Assistant Director for Programs

Dr. Audrey Doetzel, NDS has just been appointed to a new position at the Center for Christian-Jewish Learning: Assistant Director for Programs. A member of the , Dr. Doetzel most recently served as the director of Christian-Jewish Relation and Encounter, which coordinated the interfaith work of the Sisters of Sion in North America.  For the past year or so she has been a Visiting Researcher at the Center, and she will continue her professional research as she assumes this three-quarter time position.

Dr. Doetzel holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from the Toronto School of Theology, University of Toronto. A veteran of many years of experience in Christian-dialogue, she serves on the Advisory Committee on Catholic-Jewish Relations for the U.S. Bishops' Secretariat of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs and on the board of the National Catholic Center for Holocaust Education at Seton Hill University. She also been an editor of The SIDIC Review, The Service International de Documentation Judéo-Chrétienne.

The new position expands upon the existing Administrative Assistant position currently held by Teresa Korphage. Having completed her Master of Arts degree in Theology, Ms. Korphage will be leaving the Center at the end of this semester.

In addition to assuming management of its administrative functions, as Assistant Director for Programs Dr. Doetzel will serve as the Center’s networking/contact person in collaborative ventures and also as a professional resource to Christian and Jewish groups in programming specifically related to Christian-Jewish, Holocaust education, and liturgical studies. She will also be managing editor of an electronic journal to be published by the Center in collaboration with the Council of Centers for Jewish-Christian Relations, details of which will be announced shortly.

Executive Director Philip Cunningham and Associate Director Ruth Langer join in welcoming Dr. Doetzel to the team, and in congratulating Teresa Korphage on the completion of her degree and thanking her for all her work as Administrative Assistant.
