Each year the Office of the Dean of Students and campus partners work together to facilitate events and activities that aim to foster a deeper sense of community and embody the spirit of our shared Jesuit legacy and mission across campus. These continued efforts are the foundation and culmination of our 51²è¹Ýaring Campaign.
What is 51²è¹Ýaring? It’s the idea that we all care for and treat the 51²è¹Ý community, in all its facets, just as we would any other community or group of friends and family around us. We aim to inspire everyone to have this front of mind on Game Days.
We would love to see your perspective on what caring for the 51²è¹Ý community means to you. If you see something that embodies #51²è¹Ýaring, snap a photo and submit it to deanofstudents@bc.edu.
- Create a shared understanding of our Jesuit legacy, embracing attentiveness, reflection, and love as we strive for greatness in the classroom and the stadium.
- Embody the spirit of "men and women for others" on campus and in the community, recognizing that our choices hold immense power to impact those around us.
- Demonstrate unwavering consistency of personal values exhibited by academic, social, and service choices, regardless of time or place
- Implement engaging strategies to emphasize important behavior guidelines and share the information in an accessible and appealing format.
- Convey appreciation and respect to frontline and facilities staff who work to make every event safe, orderly, enjoyable, and accessible to all.
If you are intested in joining our committee or have an idea for a campus event that would embody our efforts, please email us at deanofstudents@bc.edu.
Candid Caring Photography Competition
Through the fall semester, the DOS Office is running a photography competition. We're looking for student perspectives on what caring for the community means to you! No matter how you interperet that and see it around campus, from something abstract or metaphorical, to tangible displays of care, we want to see it and spotlight it. Please snap a photo of whatever inspires you and reminds you of community care, then submit it to us at odsd@bc.edu. We will then post the photos on our instagram and the Student Affairs instagram, and select some winners to host a small reception for in the early Spring semester. Photos will be framed, and you'll be eligible to win some cool prizes including a digital camera, airpods, and more!
