International Exchange & New International Student Move-In

Monday, August 19th, 9:00am-8:00pm. Check-in will occur at our Summer Welcome Center (Stayer Hall - 110 St. Thomas More Rd). More information pertaining to the move-in process and orientation programs will be sent prior to move-in.

Late Arrivals Move-In

Sunday, August 25th, 10:00am-7:00pm. Check-in will occur at the Residential Life Office (Maloney Hall, 4th floor, 21 Campanella Way).

In an effort to space out move-in arrivals, all upperclass students will need to sign-up for a move-in appointment time for their residence hall by Monday, August 12. Fall Move-In Appointment sign-ups are now live and can be accessed via the Agora Portal → My ResLife → Fall Move-In Appointments. Students arriving outside of their appointment time may not be able to check-in/move-in until the next available time, which may be the next day. First year move-in appointments will become available after housing placements are announced in August.

There are limited appointments for each day and residence hall, and they are on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may only select one move-in appointment. If you are awaiting a decision on your Early Arrival application, we recommend you still sign up for a Fall Move-In appointment, in the event that your Early Arrival request does not get approved.

Early arrivals will be limited and will require advanced approval. Please note that most requests for early arrival will not be approved, so we ask that students plan to arrive within the regular upperclassmen move in time. There will be an early arrival fee of $85/night prior to the residence halls opening.Ìý

Group Early Arrivals

Students who are a part of an approved early arrival group (i.e. Band, ELP, preseason sports) do not need to select a move in time on Thursday, August 22nd. You will receive a separate email from Residential Life with your move-in information. Only a limited number of approved groups will be permitted to move in early. If you are part of an approved group and have questions about your move-in date, contact your group coordinator for updates and next steps.

Individual Early Arrivals

Individual early arrival requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, but most applications will be denied. Any approved early arrival student must participate in Welcome Wagon to help move-in the Class of 2028 on August 22nd, and will be assigned 1-2 shifts during move-in. More details will be provided for approved early arrivals.Ìý

  • Students with off-campus leases may apply for an arrival for as early as Sunday, August 18th with a copy of the proof of lease (student name, off-campus address, and end date must be listed on theÌýsignedÌýlease).ÌýStudents with other extenuating circumstances may request for an early arrival to arrive no earlier than Tuesday, August 20th with detailed reasoning.Ìý

  • Students who are registered for Orientation 7 should select a move-in appointment from the times available on Saturday August 17th (12pm-4pm) or Sunday August 18th 12pm-3pm.

All above information is tentative and subject to change.

Welcome Wagon is an opportunity to support first year students find their home at 51²è¹Ý and assist in their move-in process in exchange for waiving up to two nights of the early move-in fee ($85 per night). The Welcome Wagon program includes over 400 members each year who are seeking to help first year students have a positive move-in, gain volunteer experience, and work on a great team. Only students who are approved to live on-campus this Fall and have been approved to move in early (prior to Friday August 23rd) will be able to register to be a Welcome Wagon volunteer. Further information regarding Welcome Wagon will be available later in the summer.

  • Welcome Wagon volunteer training will take place on Wednesday, August 21st. Sign-up for welcome wagon will be through the MyResLife portal in Agora, within the Early Arrival Request Form.
  • Volunteers will be assigned a 5 hour shift on the Newton or Upper campus between 7:00am-4pm on Thursday August 22nd.
  • Volunteers will be required to check in and out with the Welcome Wagon leaders to verify engagement in the program.
  • Any volunteer that does not attend the mandatory training and fulfill the required hours will be charged the $85 per night early arrival fee.

Sign up for Welcome Wagon through your MyResLife portal, under the Early Arrival Request form.
