Juan Alexander Concepción

Juan Alexander Concepción is an experienced attorney who has been practicing commercial and employment law for more than 20 years.  Mr. Concepción is now a Director and Senior Legal Counsel at Boston Scientific Corporation, where he guides legal compliance and strategic workforce management for this global medical technology giant. Before joining Boston Scientific in 2019, Attorney Concepción served in various senior leadership roles at MassDOT and the MBTA and was the Assistant General Counsel at a publicly traded company in Irvine, California.

The product of Jesuit education, Mr. Concepción has made community service a central part of his life’s work. He is a long-serving director of Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR-Boston), which is a legal engine for racial equity and social justice in Massachusetts.  In 2020, he joined other leading executives to establish the New Commonwealth Fund (NCF), which raised $30 million dollars in its first year to help combat systemic racism through corporate, non-profit and government partnerships in Massachusetts. NCF has made significant grants to many black and Latino organizations across the Commonwealth.  Mr. Concepción has been recognized in the legal profession for his long-standing commitment to serving vulnerable communities.

Mr. Concepción is a proud “Quadruple Eagle” with four degrees from Boston College.  He serves with great distinction on our Board of Trustees and is a member of 51’s part-time faculty.  Professor Concepción is a co-founder of the AHANA Alumni Advisory Council and is a great ambassador for the Office of Admissions.  An avid supporter of educational excellence in Catholic schools, he also serves as a trustee at Saint Columbkille Partnership School in Brighton and at Cardinal Hayes High School in the South Bronx, New York.
