Human Rights

All human beings are entitled to certain fundamental rights called “human rights.â€

On December 10, 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in order to form the basis of a world built on freedom, human dignity, justice, equality, non-discrimination, fairness, and universality, which applies to everyone, everywhere and always.

All of the participants in the Boston College Supported Employment Program review their Basic Human Rights annually with the Human Rights Officer (HRO) using our comprehensive Human Rights Booklet (pdf). The HRO trains and supports individuals, their families, and their direct support staff regarding various human rights issues.

The Boston College Supported Employment Program shares a Human Rights Committee with the Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌý. The committee meets four times a year to discuss human rights issues related to participants from each vocational program.
