The 51 Law Land & Environmental Law Program is designed to train professionals and encourage service in areas of increasingly critical importance to the lives and prosperity of people around the nation and the world, promoting policies and doctrines of sustainability of land, air, and water resources that support the myriad interlocking ecosystems that constitute life on the planet.
Campus Sustainability
providesinformation on conservation, tips for reducing your carbon footprint, and news on campus initiatives (which can serve as a model for off-campus initiatives too!). Site includes news on the inter-dorm “Electricity Saving” competition.
The Weston Observatory
The Weston Observatory is a geophysical research and science education center of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Boston College. The Observatory, which has been recording earthquakes since the 1930s, conducts research on earthquakes and related geoscience. It is part of a worldwide distributed network for earthquake monitoring and research and for providing educational and public outreach resources about all aspects of the science of seismology, earthquake hazards, and related geoscience.
