Small changes can add up to a more secure online experience. 51 Information Technology wants to help you get started. Begin with these five steps to do your part and #BeCyberSmart:
1.Keep track of passwords with aPassword managerapp.
2. wherever possible, including your 51 Google account.
3. Create strong, uniquepassphrases.
4. Keep Software Up-to-Date. Cyber criminals take advantage of vulnerabilities in software to spread malware. If you don’t update, you leave your computer or device at risk of infection.
- Operating System: Run “Windows Update” for Windows, or “Software Update” for your Mac.
- Applications. Make sure all programs such as Zoom, Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Office, are up-to-date.
5. Ensure you backup files you save on your devices. If you backup your computer and devices, you won’t lose your files even if you get infected with a virus or ransomware.
